Under the terms of the agreement, METiS TechBio will receive an initial $20 million payment. The deal structure further includes up to $1.6 billion in development, regulatory, and commercial milestone payments, alongside tiered royalties on future product sales. This transaction serves as a validation of the company's proprietary NanoForge platform, which integrates AI-based protein design with drug delivery system engineering.
METiS TechBio Licenses Trispecific T-cell Engager to Boulevard Bio
Hong Kong-based METiS TechBio has secured a global licensing deal with U.S.-based Boulevard Bio for MTS-128, a next-generation trispecific T-cell engager. The agreement, backed by Deerfield Management, grants Boulevard worldwide rights to develop and commercialize the therapeutic, marking a significant milestone for AI-driven drug discovery.

MTS-128 distinguishes itself from conventional bispecific T-cell engagers by targeting multiple biological mechanisms simultaneously. This design aims to improve target cell killing efficiency while widening the therapeutic window and mitigating off-target toxicity. Developed through the company’s AiProtein engine, the program represents a shift for METiS from early technological development toward global commercialization. METiS CEO Chris Lai noted that the collaboration highlights the maturing intersection of artificial intelligence and drug delivery, positioning the company to continue generating competitive therapeutic assets.
