Michael Dolezal Joins Spektrum Labs to Modernize Private Equity Cyber Risk

A single weak portfolio company can jeopardize an entire fund's reputation, yet traditional private equity cyber due diligence relies on static, outdated questionnaires. To bridge this visibility gap, Spektrum Labs has appointed industry veteran Michael Dolezal as managing director of private equity to champion continuous, machine-verified cyber resilience across investment portfolios.

Dolezal steps into the role with a mandate to overhaul how private equity firms monitor and validate security postures from pre-close through divestiture. By replacing manual, point-in-time assessments with automated validation, Spektrum aims to provide General Partners with a centralized, cryptographic source of truth. This transition allows firms to normalize control data across disparate stacks—including EDR, identity, and cloud environments—into a single, comparable view of fund-wide exposure.

His appointment signals a strategic shift for the Carmel-based firm as it targets the specific technical and financial mandates of operating partners and CISOs. Beyond initial due diligence, the company is positioning its platform to streamline board reporting and secure better insurance terms by offering tamper-proof evidence of safeguards. According to Rob Driscoll, co-founder and chief revenue officer at Spektrum, the firm is moving to replace industry promises with verifiable data, leveraging Dolezal’s history of navigating the complex risk profiles inherent in diverse investment holdings.
