The partnership focuses on scaling Digital Electricity, a proprietary technology that delivers power in a software-defined format. By combining VoltServer’s fault-managed architecture with Eaton’s global infrastructure reach, the companies intend to address the limitations of traditional electrical distribution, specifically targeting the need for safer, more flexible, and efficient power delivery in data centers and utility environments.
Eaton Invests in VoltServer to Scale Digital Electricity
As demand for AI-driven infrastructure and edge computing reshapes electrical grids, Eaton has announced a strategic investment and partnership with VoltServer. The collaboration aims to integrate VoltServer’s fault-managed power technology into Eaton’s broader power management portfolio to modernize DC-based distribution systems across commercial and industrial sectors.
Dave Johnson, CEO of VoltServer, noted that the infusion of engineering resources will accelerate the development of systems capable of meeting the rigorous demands of modern digital infrastructure. Michael Regelski, senior vice president and CTO of Eaton’s Electrical Sector, emphasized that the investment positions the company to lead in the transition toward DC-based architectures, which are increasingly vital for efficient, scalable energy management. The companies have begun co-creating hardware and software solutions designed to reduce installation complexity and deployment costs for facility operators.
