iClever Debuts Q950 Headphones With TÜV Rheinland Hearing Certification

Nearly one billion young people face potential hearing loss from unsafe audio habits, a crisis that has spurred the development of more sophisticated safety hardware. iClever is now addressing this shift with the Q950, the first children’s headset to earn the TÜV Rheinland Hearing Care Certification for long-term acoustic health.

The Q950 moves beyond standard volume-limiting features by integrating a holistic hearing-care philosophy. Evaluated across four metrics—safe listening, acoustic performance, adaptive audio, and active care—the device utilizes proprietary SafeSound technology to maintain an 80 dBA limit. Crucially, the inclusion of Hybrid Active Noise Cancellation, which provides up to 35 dB of reduction, allows children to maintain clarity in loud environments like airplanes or classrooms without the common urge to turn up the volume.

Beyond its technical certifications, the headset emphasizes durability and ergonomics to suit daily use. The 2026 Red Dot Award winner features a POK headband and reinforced metal hinges tested through 3,000-cycle stress evaluations. With 60 hours of battery life and intuitive wear detection, the design aims to integrate hearing protection into a child’s routine rather than treating it as a restrictive constraint. Dr. Kellsie Busho, Director of Clinical Programs for Audiology, noted that the device makes protection a natural part of everyday life by prioritizing clarity over raw volume.
