Kathy Elsesser Joins Lazard Board Following Andrew Alper's Retirement
After more than 13 years of service, Andrew M. Alper has retired from the Lazard Board of Directors. The firm has appointed Kathy Elsesser, a veteran Goldman Sachs partner and current TPG board member, to fill the vacancy as it pushes forward with its Lazard 2030 strategic growth plan.

Lazard CEO and Chairman Peter R. Orszag credited Elsesser’s background as a trusted advisor to global companies as a key asset for the firm’s ongoing evolution in the financial advisory sector. Lead Independent Director Dan Schulman noted that her global perspective on strategic transactions will be instrumental in strengthening the board’s governance. Elsesser, an alumna of Boston College and Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management, expressed that her focus will be on helping the firm navigate an increasingly complex economic and geopolitical landscape.
