SoftAtHome Scales prpl Open-Source Framework with European Wi-Fi 7 Launch
After years of industry speculation, the open-source prpl framework has officially reached commercial scale. SoftAtHome has deployed the world’s first Wi-Fi 7 repeater utilizing a full prpl software stack, marking a significant transition for Orange subscribers across France, Poland, and several upcoming European markets.
SoftAtHome’s Wifi'ON software powers the mesh networking, enabling dynamic topology management. The system automatically routes connectivity for optimal signal quality without requiring manual configuration from the user. Complementing this, the Eyes'ON analytics suite provides Orange with real-time performance observability. Arnaud Bellivier de Prin, CEO of SoftAtHome, noted that the deployment proves operators can incorporate new silicon partners while preserving a consistent user experience. Beyond performance, the hardware emphasizes sustainability through the use of recycled plastics and a modular design intended for long-term repair and software-driven updates.
