Philippines Adopts Zetrix Blockchain for Sovereign Digital Infrastructure

The Philippines government has partnered with Malaysia’s Zetrix AI to implement a national public blockchain, marking a significant expansion for the Layer-1 protocol. By integrating the Zetrix infrastructure, Manila aims to digitize government-issued credentials and streamline cross-border verification processes for citizens, businesses, and emerging AI agent systems.

The agreement, formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding between the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) of the Philippines, Zetrix Philippines Inc., and My Blockchain Infrastructure Sdn. Bhd., establishes a framework for sovereign-grade digital services. This infrastructure will serve as the backbone for national applications, mirroring the role Zetrix currently plays in Malaysia’s own blockchain ecosystem.

Henry R. Aguda, Secretary of DICT, emphasized that the initiative focuses on portable trust, designed to reduce bureaucratic friction and enhance service accessibility. The partnership will prioritize the deployment of verifiable credentials and cross-border digital identity interoperability between the Philippines and Malaysia. This deployment builds upon Zetrix AI's decade-long history of providing digital government services in the Philippines, where it already maintains operational relationships with agencies including the Bureau of Internal Revenue and the Philippine Ports Authority.

Beyond domestic utility, the platform’s connection to China’s Xinghuo Blockchain Infrastructure positions the project within a broader regional digital trade network. By leveraging its existing track record in digital ID verification and customs processing, the collaboration aims to integrate the Philippines into a common, secure economic ecosystem across ASEAN.
