The collaboration integrates Uwill’s proprietary platform into the existing framework of the university’s Student Counseling Services. Regina Hyatt, Vice President for Student Affairs at MSU, noted that the move is intended to provide a necessary safety net for students, ensuring support is available regardless of time or location. The service connects individuals directly with licensed therapists capable of risk assessment and de-escalation, alongside resources focused on resilience, stress management, and mindfulness.
Mississippi State University Expands Mental Health Access via Uwill
With 42% of college students reporting a need for mental health support last year, Mississippi State University is turning to digital solutions to bridge the gap. The institution announced a new partnership with Uwill, a teletherapy provider, to offer students immediate, round-the-clock access to crisis intervention and wellness programming.

This expansion comes as institutions nationwide grapple with a widening accessibility gap in campus health services. While demand for professional counseling remains high, statistics indicate that more than 60% of students who seek help have never successfully accessed formal therapy. By adopting Uwill’s model, which currently serves over 4 million students across 500 institutions, Mississippi State aims to remove traditional barriers to entry. Uwill CEO Michael London emphasized that the platform is designed to mirror the immediate needs of modern students, providing a streamlined process for matching users with counselors while offering additional support for prescription management and basic needs.
