LG Electronics is pushing further into the commercial sector with a new suite of high-capacity washers and dryers. Debuting this month in Europe before expanding to Asia and North America, the lineup targets hospitality, healthcare, and industrial clients with AI-driven hardware designed to minimize downtime and energy consumption.
The equipment features LG's proprietary Dynamic Ball-Core System, which utilizes a gyro sensor to stabilize drum loads in real time. This allows for spin speeds reaching 1,100 RPM, significantly reducing water content and shortening drying cycles. For high-volume environments, the company's WasherDryer units can complete a full wash-and-dry cycle in approximately one hour based on a seven-kilogram load.
Energy management is handled through a combination of AI Weight Detection and Dual Inverter HeatPump technology. The latter eliminates the need for external ductwork, providing business owners with greater installation flexibility. To ensure garment longevity, the machines employ Sensor Dry algorithms and MotionCare cycles, which adjust drum movements and temperatures to prevent fabric damage.
Maintenance and oversight are centralized through the LaundryCrew app, which allows managers to monitor machine status and update software remotely. LG has also introduced an Open API to facilitate integration with existing third-party business management systems. The hardware includes a 'Front Service Ready' design and automated cleaning cycles, such as the Intertek-verified Tub Clean, to streamline daily operations. According to Baek Seung-tae, president of the LG Home Appliance Solution Company, the move is part of a broader strategy to provide scalable, intelligent infrastructure for B2B partners seeking to improve cost-efficiency.
