Accion Opportunity Fund Appoints Emily Nichols as Development Chief
With two decades of expertise in mission-driven fundraising, Emily Nichols joins San Jose-based Accion Opportunity Fund as Chief Development Officer. She steps into the role to spearhead the nonprofit’s philanthropic strategy and expand financial resources for underserved small business owners operating across the United States.
Luz Urrutia, President and CEO of Accion Opportunity Fund, cited Nichols' history of deepening donor connections as a primary driver for the hire. The organization, a certified Community Development Financial Institution, provides capital and advisory services to entrepreneurs often overlooked by traditional lending channels. Nichols noted that she intends to build upon the fund’s reputation to scale philanthropic support and further the nonprofit’s mission of creating equitable economic pathways.
