Broadcasting from Hatfield Media’s Louisville studios, the "25 Hours. One Connected World" initiative kicks off on September 24. To meet Guinness requirements, the stream must run continuously for the full duration with no interruptions exceeding one minute, while maintaining a minimum audience of 50 viewers at all times. Connected Nation Aims for Guinness Record with 25-Hour Digital Literacy Marathon
Kentucky-based nonprofit Connected Nation is staging a 25-hour live stream marathon this September, attempting to set a Guinness World Record for the longest internet literacy broadcast. The event aims to secure the commonwealth’s first-ever 'Record of Good' designation while providing global access to essential digital skills training.
Connected Nation Chairman and CEO Tom Ferree described the event as a milestone for the organization’s 25-year history, emphasizing that the attempt serves to highlight Kentucky’s role in digital inclusion. AT&T has signed on as the lead collaborator for the project, which seeks to address persistent barriers to digital access. Executive Vice President Heather Gate noted that the effort is designed to demonstrate how local community empowerment can scale globally. Interested participants can join as host sites, contribute through sponsorships, or engage with the training sessions directly via the organization's portal.
