The Zuiderdam will undergo a significant interior overhaul, adding 14 Vista Suites and 32 staterooms specifically tailored for solo travelers. Among the most notable additions are two Bridgeview Suites, which feature forward-facing, wraparound windows positioned above the bridge to offer panoramic ocean views. The ship will also house a reimagined Pinnacle Suite, designed with a residential aesthetic to provide a more upscale living environment.
Holland America Adds Zuiderdam to Fleet-Wide Evolution Program
Following the success of the Oosterdam refurbishment, Holland America Line has selected the Zuiderdam as the second vessel in its expansive 153-year fleet renovation project. The transformation introduces a suite of new cabin categories and signature public spaces designed to modernize the guest experience across the company’s vessels.

Beyond accommodation upgrades, the ship will incorporate the Grand Dutch Café, a staple of the line’s Pinnacle Class vessels. This venue, intended to serve as an all-day social hub, will be the largest iteration of the café introduced under the Evolution initiative to date. According to Holland America Line president Beth Bodensteiner, the decision to replicate these specific design choices follows strong passenger demand for similar features on the Oosterdam. Bookings for the updated Zuiderdam voyages are scheduled to open on July 30, with further itinerary details expected in the coming weeks.
