Guffey, who has practiced for nearly eight years, emphasizes that her work moves beyond simple relaxation. By offering a blend of therapeutic massage, cupping, Reiki, and energy work, she treats clients struggling with chronic pain, muscle tension, and the physical toll of sedentary work. Unlike high-volume corporate wellness centers, her model relies on direct, one-on-one relationships, where every intake and treatment plan is managed personally by the owner.
Liz Guffey Reopens Frederick Wellness Practice
After a six-month hiatus, licensed massage therapist Liz Guffey has reopened Serenity Space Massage Therapy in Frederick, Maryland. The private practice aims to provide a dedicated sanctuary for residents, shifting the focus from constant daily caregiving and professional demands toward intentional, personalized physical and emotional recovery.

"Most people spend their lives taking care of everyone else," Guffey said. "My hope is that when someone walks into Serenity Space, they finally have permission to put themselves first for a little while." She views the practice as a preventative measure rather than an occasional luxury, advocating for consistent maintenance to address stress before it manifests as deeper health issues. The studio, located at 1611 Rosemont Avenue, resumed operations in May and is currently accepting new appointments through its website.
