Since 2024, the initiative has reached more than 250 students across the TGR Learning Lab locations in Anaheim and Philadelphia. These programs, supported by the Genesis Gives corporate social responsibility arm, provide exposure to essential industry skills including 3D modeling, ideation sketching, and product planning. In El Segundo, California, students toured the Genesis Design California studio to see the development process behind future vehicles, while participants in Philadelphia engaged in sustainability-focused challenges using upcycled materials to design mobility concepts.
Genesis and TGR Foundation Expand STEAM Education for Students
Students in California and Pennsylvania are gaining direct access to automotive design and engineering careers through an expanded partnership between Genesis Motor America and the TGR Foundation. The collaboration focuses on bridging the gap between classroom theory and professional practice for youth in under-resourced communities through hands-on workshops.
Brandon Ramirez, director of corporate social responsibility at Genesis Motor America, noted that the program aims to introduce students to the technologies and creative pathways defining the modern automotive landscape. John Lee, senior vice president of programs at the TGR Foundation, emphasized that this hands-on experience is critical for preparing young people to navigate the transition from academic studies to long-term career success. The TGR Foundation, which marks its 30th anniversary in 2026, has served over 217,000 students since its inception, consistently focusing on STEAM-based enrichment to unlock potential in underserved populations.
