Emerald Airlines Secures Five-Year Engine Support Deal with RTX
At the Farnborough International Airshow, Emerald Airlines and Pratt & Whitney Canada announced a multi-year maintenance agreement covering the PW127M engines that power the airline's fleet of ATR 72-600 turboprops. The contract, running through 2030, aims to stabilize operational costs and ensure fleet reliability for the Irish carrier.
Richard Spencer, Chief Operating Officer of Emerald Airlines, emphasized that the partnership offers long-term certainty for their regional network, which services routes across Ireland, the UK, and France. The PW100 engine family remains central to these operations, offering significant efficiency gains on shorter routes. These engines are designed to reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions by up to 40% compared to regional jets and are already certified for use with 50% synthetic aviation fuel blends.
