The agreement covers a firm order for 20 aircraft, supplemented by 10 purchase options and 15 purchase rights. By integrating these E195-E2 models, Abra plans to optimize capacity on routes where smaller, more efficient jets can unlock demand that larger narrow-body planes struggle to serve profitably. The E195-E2, powered by Pratt & Whitney GTF engines, will introduce lower emission profiles and improved operating costs compared to the current fleet.
Abra Group Expands Fleet with Order for 45 Embraer E195-E2 Jets
At the Farnborough International Airshow, the Abra Group announced a significant deal to acquire up to 45 Embraer E195-E2 aircraft. The parent company of Avianca and Gol aims to leverage the regional jets to enhance network connectivity and fuel efficiency across its sprawling Latin American operations starting in 2027.
Adrian Neuhauser, CEO of Abra, stated the move aligns with the group’s disciplined strategy to deploy the right aircraft for regional and domestic markets. Embraer President Arjan Meijer highlighted that the deal solidifies the manufacturer's role in supporting Latin American carriers with versatile, high-performance technology. Deliveries are scheduled to commence in the final quarter of 2027, contingent on final contract fulfillment.
