Spanning 121 counties across seven states, the Tennessee River Valley is positioning itself as a premier destination for immersive, multi-day exploration. The regional Stewardship Council has launched Outsized Adventures, a storytelling and travel initiative designed to guide visitors toward lesser-known trails, waterways, and historic communities.
These curated adventures cover a vast territory including parts of Tennessee, Alabama, Kentucky, Mississippi, Georgia, North Carolina, and Virginia. Each route connects travelers to local historic downtowns, wildlife habitats, and protected public lands, with an emphasis on sustainable travel and conservation. The Council intends to roll out additional stories and itineraries throughout the year via their digital platform, ExploreTRV.com, providing a roadmap for those seeking authentic outdoor challenges within the American interior.
