Tucked inside the Mandarin Oriental Mayfair, Esmeralda’s Mayfair is rewriting the capital’s after-dark script. Founded by twins Lee and Nicky Caulfield, the venue bridges the gap between high-end hospitality and the magnetic, gritty energy of New York nightlife, remaining open until the early hours from Thursday through Saturday.
The venue centers on a five-piece resident band that anchors the evening with soul, funk, and disco, eventually yielding the floor to house-focused DJs. This curated atmosphere is designed to feel unpredictable, featuring surprise appearances and a signature gesture: a complimentary mini champagne coupe served when the bill arrives.
Behind the bar, the menu leans into contemporary revisions of city classics. The Dubai Layover, a pistachio-infused Belvedere Vodka espresso martini, stands alongside the East Coast Matcha, a clarified gin blend. For sustenance, the kitchen offers a mix of elevated comfort and indulgence, from truffle-Mornay hotdogs and NYC-style pepperoni pizzettas to lobster rolls and Ossetra-topped caviar nuggets.
Lee and Nicky Caulfield bring distinct backgrounds to the project. Lee, founder of Circle PR, brings a decade of experience in luxury hospitality and high-profile guest relations, while Nicky, a professional drummer and founder of Molto Music Group, oversees the sonic identity. Their combined expertise aims to fill a void in London’s nightlife, creating a space where world-class live performance and refined service operate on equal footing.
