Hollyland Debuts Pyro 5 4K Wireless Monitor for On-Set Efficiency

Filmmakers juggling separate transmitters, receivers, and external field monitors now have a unified alternative. Hollyland has launched the Pyro 5 4K, a compact 5.5-inch device that integrates high-resolution wireless transmission, direct camera control, and proxy recording into a single piece of hardware designed to reduce on-set equipment clutter.

The device centers on end-to-end 4K30 wireless transmission, utilizing the company’s proprietary WiFiBroadcast technology to maintain stable signals across distances up to 200 meters. To counter common interference issues during live broadcasts or commercial shoots, the unit operates on both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands. Its automated frequency-hopping system scans for cleaner channels upon startup, while manual overrides allow crews to isolate devices to prevent signal overlap in complex environments.

Beyond basic monitoring, the 1,500-nit display serves as a command center for production workflows. Operators can adjust settings on compatible Sony, Canon, and Nikon cameras directly through the touchscreen. The introduction of an Image Overlay function provides a visual reference for framing, which aims to ensure consistency across multiple takes. The device also supports proxy recording to SD cards with embedded timecode, facilitating faster transitions to post-production. The Pyro 5 4K is available now through global distributors and online retailers for $449.
