Andy Calvert of Washington, D.C., secured the 2026 National Visionary of the Year title after raising $624,548 for Blood Cancer United. The campaign, which challenges volunteers to lead 10-week fundraising initiatives, honored top performers across the country who turned personal experiences with blood cancer into substantial support for research and advocacy.
Calvert, representing Presidio, launched his campaign following his father’s 2025 diagnosis with myelodysplastic syndrome. His efforts included high-profile recognitions at Washington Nationals and D.C. United games, effectively rallying the local community. Alongside him, Emily Krasnicki of Palm Beach and Martha Newsom of Charlotte were named runners-up, each contributing over $600,000 to the organization’s mission.
The competition also highlighted the dedication of campaign alumni through the All Star category. Craig Beckinger of Tampa took the top All Star honor with $182,303 raised, while Verr Soltes of Houston was recognized as runner-up. These participants, along with Team Member of the Year Kellie Harrington—who raised over $250,000—demonstrate the grassroots power of the 38-year-old initiative.
Coker Powell, EVP and Chief Revenue Officer at Blood Cancer United, noted that these collective efforts are vital in accelerating research and providing direct aid to families. The organization, formerly known as The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, continues to leverage these personal fundraising stories to scale its impact across more than 100 types of blood cancer. This year’s campaign was supported by Lilly, serving as the inaugural National Partner to further emphasize the intersection of community action and medical progress.
