Shoop arrives at ARCO from Gray, where he served as Vice President of the firm’s Process Engineering practice. His expertise centers on asset lifecycle management, focusing on designs that prioritize production performance, food safety, and equipment longevity. By housing these engineering capabilities in-house, ARCO aims to provide a single point of accountability that bridges the gap between initial process design and final construction, potentially accelerating timelines for manufacturers.
ARCO Design/Build Hires Brian Shoop to Lead Process Engineering
With over 15 years of experience in facility optimization, Brian Shoop has joined ARCO Design/Build as the new Director of Process Engineering. The appointment signals a strategic push by the national firm to integrate complex manufacturing design directly into its turnkey construction workflow for food and beverage clients.

"In food and beverage, time is everything," Shoop noted, highlighting the pressure of retail commitments and product launches that drive facility demand. This shift represents a broader evolution for ARCO, which has spent three decades primarily in cold storage. By expanding into the manufacturing and processing side of the supply chain, the company is positioning itself to manage the entire production environment. Shoop will make his debut in his new role at the International Association for Food Protection Annual Meeting in New Orleans this July, where he will lead a roundtable on engineering principles for facility and equipment lifespan.
