The symposium, an APEC-funded initiative titled the Asia-Pacific Symposium for Strategic Innovation in Sustainable Technology, brought together representatives from China, the United States, Japan, Singapore, and several other member economies. Central to the proceedings was an initiative led by Academician Xiang Jinwu of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, which outlines five priorities, including the creation of a cross-border think tank and a stronger focus on green technological transformation.
A key outcome of the event was the unveiling of 20 "Innovation Pioneer" cases. These selections, chosen after rigorous offline defense and review, highlight progress in hard-tech manufacturing and ecosystem support services across the region. By sharing these models, organizers hope to provide a blueprint for addressing common hurdles such as airspace management and safety supervision, which currently vary significantly between jurisdictions.
