A long-vacant former Walmart property in Harrisonville, Missouri, is set for a transformation as Kansas City Hickory Provisions converts the site into a 72,000-square-foot barbecue production hub. The facility, slated for a 2027 opening, represents a strategic expansion for the family behind the storied Jack Stack Barbecue brand.
"We've always believed in reinvesting in the people and the places that made Kansas City barbecue what it is," said Kirk Durham, Vice President of Retail Operations. The company plans to begin its hiring cycle in the fourth quarter of 2026, targeting a full operational launch in the first quarter of 2027. This move deepens the Fiorella-Dorman family’s footprint in the region, keeping the production facility within reach of their original Martin City roots while standardizing their signature hickory-smoked techniques for a nationwide retail and foodservice audience.
