After reaching its 2025 sustainability objectives, wire and cable giant Southwire is pivoting toward an ambitious 2032 agenda. The Carrollton-based company announced a strategic plan to slash Scope 1 and 2 emissions by over 50% while aggressively expanding its community investment and workplace inclusion metrics.
Burt Fealing, the company’s executive vice president and chief sustainability officer, framed the transition as a balance between honoring the firm’s industrial legacy and addressing future demands. The strategy extends into internal operations as well, with plans to reach the top 5% of industry benchmarks for both employee net promoter scores and inclusion-related engagement. The organization also intends to double its financial support for nonprofits, reinforcing its commitment to the regions where its 9,000 global employees operate.
