FibroBiologics Advances Clinical Pipeline and Reports Quarterly Results

Houston-based FibroBiologics has officially entered the clinical-stage arena, dosing the first patient in a Phase 1/2 trial for its lead wound care candidate, CYWC628. The company is now pivoting toward a busy second half of 2026, with interim data for its diabetic foot ulcer program expected within months.

FibroBiologics Advances Clinical Pipeline and Reports Quarterly Results

The company reported a net loss of approximately $4.1 million for the quarter ending June 30, 2026, driven largely by research and development expenditures of $1.7 million. To support its ongoing clinical transition, FibroBiologics bolstered its balance sheet through a $9 million private placement and a $3 million public offering, leaving the firm with $3.5 million in cash and cash equivalents at the end of the quarter.

Beyond the CYWC628 trials, the company is intensifying its research efforts. Management anticipates filing an Investigational New Drug application for its psoriasis candidate, CYPS317, in the fourth quarter, followed by an application for its multiple sclerosis treatment, CYMS101. These efforts are underpinned by a growing intellectual property portfolio, including a recent USPTO notice of allowance for 3D spheroid fibroblast wound healing methods. CEO Pete O'Heeron noted that the company is currently positioned for a series of upcoming catalysts as it shifts focus from early-stage development to clinical validation.
