GlycoNex Launches First Human Trial for Glycan-Targeting ADC GNX1021
A patient in Japan has received the first dose of GNX1021, marking the clinical debut of GlycoNex Inc.’s novel antibody-drug conjugate. This Phase I trial represents a shift for the Taipei-based firm, moving its lead oncology candidate from laboratory development into human testing to evaluate safety and early anti-tumor efficacy.

The ongoing multinational study, conducted across sites in Japan and Taiwan, will assess the drug’s pharmacokinetics and immunogenicity in patients with advanced solid tumors. Dr. Mei-Chun Yang, President and CEO of GlycoNex, described the milestone as a critical inflection point for the company’s oncology portfolio. Following initial data collection, the firm plans to determine the recommended dose for future trials and explore potential global licensing or co-development partnerships to support the program’s long-term commercial path.
