Wayfair Plans First Pennsylvania Store in Pittsburgh

The single-level retail hub will feature a curated selection of products arranged by style and room, alongside an on-site design studio for personalized consultations. Customers will be able to purchase items for immediate pickup, while larger inventory will rely on the company's existing logistics network for two-day delivery. Liza Lefkowski, vice president of merchandising and stores at Wayfair, noted that the Pittsburgh region’s distinct architectural character influenced the choice of location.

Fred Reitano, CEO of J.J. Gumberg Co., which manages North Hills Village, expects the brand to serve as a major anchor for the property. This expansion adds to a growing list of physical locations for the retailer, joining existing stores in Illinois, Georgia, and Ohio, with additional sites planned for Colorado, New York, Florida, and New Jersey. The project represents a continued push toward an omnichannel model, aiming to bridge the gap between digital browsing and the tactile experience of in-store shopping.
