Montgomery, who currently serves as an executive vice president, has been a central figure in Danaher’s growth since joining the company in 2017. During her leadership of the diagnostics platform, revenue expanded from approximately $6 billion to $11 billion, while operating profit nearly tripled. Her tenure has been marked by a focus on commercial excellence and the integration of strategic acquisitions, including the recent purchase of Masimo and the pending deal for StatLab.
Julie Sawyer Montgomery to Lead Danaher as CEO
Danaher Corporation has appointed Julie Sawyer Montgomery as its next president and chief executive officer, effective October 1, 2026. She will succeed Rainer Blair, who is retiring after a six-year tenure that saw the company evolve into a dominant force within the global life sciences and diagnostics sectors.

Board Chairman Steven Rales credited Montgomery with the vision necessary to navigate the company’s next phase of expansion. Following his departure on October 1, Blair will remain with the firm as a senior advisor until March 31, 2027, to facilitate the transition. Danaher confirmed that the leadership change does not impact the company’s previously issued financial guidance for the remainder of 2026.
