Reston-based Tidal Cyber is pushing its threat intelligence platform directly into the AI assistants security teams already use, such as ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot. By utilizing the new Model Context Protocol Server, the company aims to eliminate the friction of switching between applications to assess defensive posture.

Security teams currently face a fragmentation problem: while they lean on AI to accelerate operations, the critical context regarding their specific defensive coverage and threat exposure remains trapped in isolated platforms. Tidal Cyber seeks to bridge this gap by injecting its Threat Profiles and Coverage Maps into established AI environments through natural-language interactions. This approach allows analysts to assess organizational readiness and generate leadership reports without abandoning their preferred tools.

Co-founder and CEO Rick Gordon noted that existing AI assistants lack visibility into an organization’s unique defensive landscape. The new integration ensures that when a team queries an assistant about a potential threat, the response is grounded in the company's actual security data. According to Chief Innovation Officer Frank Duff, the goal is to make procedure-level intelligence available at the exact moment defensive decisions are made.

Technically, this is achieved through the Tidal Cyber Model Context Protocol (MCP) Server, which acts as a secure, governed connectivity layer. The system preserves customer control by maintaining tenant-scoped access, ensuring that sensitive defensive intelligence does not leak. Rather than forcing teams to adopt a new interface, the company is positioning its platform as a layer that enhances existing AI investments, allowing engineers to prioritize work and evaluate exposure directly within their daily workflows.
