ACE Cash Express Raises $76,000 for Childhood Cancer Research

Employees and customers of ACE Cash Express raised over $76,000 for Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation during the annual Give A Little Campaign this May. The funds support pediatric cancer research and families battling the disease, marking another milestone in a partnership that has spanned nearly a decade of charitable giving.

The fundraising effort saw ACE stores across the country decorated in yellow and blue, with staff hosting lemonade stands to engage local communities. Beyond the national campaign, ACE sponsored the foundation’s "Original" Lemonade Stand event at Penn Wynne Elementary School in Pennsylvania. This event commemorated 26 years since Alex Scott, the foundation’s founder, launched her first lemonade stand in 2000 to fund cancer treatments.

Liz Scott, co-executive director of the foundation and mother of the late founder, noted that the company’s sustained support has been vital to their mission. Since its inception, the foundation has funded over 1,500 research grants and provided direct assistance to more than 15,000 families. Sally Aiello, vice president of government relations at Populus Financial Group, attributed the success to the collective generosity of the firm's employees and customers.

The initiative is part of the broader ACE Community Fund, which has contributed more than $21 million to various charitable organizations since 2004. This year, the company’s national fundraising efforts surpassed $160,000, benefiting groups including Autism Speaks, Vogel, and AdoptAClassroom.org.
