Since 2021, the two companies have worked together to streamline payment processing in the U.K., Ireland, Canada, and Australia. By incorporating Adyen’s unified platform into its U.S. ecosystem, Toast intends to reduce technical complexities for restaurant and retail operators. The platform currently supports approximately 180,000 locations globally, providing integrated point-of-sale systems, online ordering, and back-of-house management tools.
Adyen and Toast Expand Fintech Partnership into U.S. Market
After four years of collaboration across international markets, Adyen and Toast are bringing their payment technology integration to the United States. The move aims to bolster the financial infrastructure for Toast’s vast network, which processed over $215 billion in gross payment volume during the 12 months ending June 30, 2026.

Michel Rbeiz, General Manager of Fintech at Toast, described the integration as a natural progression for the partnership, emphasizing the need for stability in high-volume processing. For Adyen, the deal reinforces its strategy of providing a single, in-house financial backbone for large enterprises. Beyond payment processing, the partnership creates a foundation for Toast to potentially offer deeper financial products, such as capital and business accounts, directly to its merchant base.
