Beyond his work in tech, Dr. Mate brings a deep background in global health policy and patient safety. He previously led the Institute for Healthcare Improvement as president and CEO and currently holds a faculty position at Weill Cornell Medicine, while maintaining an internal medicine practice at New York Presbyterian Hospital. Board Chair Pamela DeCoste noted that his multifaceted expertise—spanning clinical governance and innovation—will be critical as the organization refines its approach to sustainable care delivery.
