Quantinuum and Oracle partner to integrate quantum computing into OCI

Oracle and Quantinuum have launched a multi-year partnership to bring the Helios quantum computer directly into Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. By hosting the 98-qubit trapped-ion system within OCI data centers, the companies aim to streamline hybrid quantum-AI workflows for enterprise, academic, and research organizations seeking to solve complex, compute-intensive problems.

The collaboration allows developers to access quantum hardware alongside OCI’s existing high-performance computing and GPU resources. Quantinuum’s Helios system, which achieved an average two-qubit gate fidelity of 99.921% as of late 2025, is designed for seamless integration with cloud-native governance and data services. This approach removes the need for organizations to manage dedicated quantum hardware facilities, providing a more accessible path for integrating quantum processing into standard enterprise IT environments.

Beyond computational power, the partnership emphasizes energy efficiency. Helios reportedly operates with a power draw significantly lower than traditional supercomputers—consuming approximately 60 kW compared to the 16 to 39 MW required by leading classical systems. Oracle plans to preview its quantum service in the coming months, offering a platform that combines Quantinuum’s development stack with support for open-source hybrid-programming frameworks. This environment is intended to accelerate the transition from simulation to execution, helping researchers in fields such as drug discovery and materials science move from concept to practical application more rapidly.
