Solar-Powered Smart Lock Hits $500,000 Milestone on Kickstarter

With over $500,000 raised from 755 backers, the DESLOC V150 Plus has become the most successful smart lock project on Kickstarter since 2023. The device, which features a self-charging solar panel, reached its initial funding goal in just one hour, signaling a shift in consumer demand toward low-maintenance home security.

The V150 Plus addresses a common frustration among smart home enthusiasts: the frequent need to replace or recharge batteries in feature-heavy devices. By integrating a perovskite low-light energy-harvesting panel with a 10,000mAh battery, the lock harvests ambient light to sustain daily operations. This focus on endurance is paired with standard modern conveniences, including 3D facial recognition, fingerprint scanning, and built-in Wi-Fi connectivity.

To bridge the gap between marketing claims and real-world performance, DESLOC secured TÜV Rheinland Long-Endurance Certification. The evaluation process subjected the hardware to rigorous testing, including standby power consumption and performance in low-light environments. Beyond energy efficiency, the testing covered environmental resilience, such as temperature cycling and dust-water protection, confirming the device's viability for exterior residential use. The successful crowdfunding campaign now moves into the pre-order phase as the company transitions from product validation to market availability.
