Feagine Robotics Debuts Fi0 Model for Cross-Embodiment Intelligence

Shenzhen-based Feagine Robotics has unveiled Fi0, a foundation model designed to maintain task knowledge across robots of varying shapes and sizes. By decoupling intelligence from a specific hardware form, the company aims to allow robots with different segment counts and degrees of freedom to share learned skills and physical world understanding.

The release of Fi0 coincides with the launch of the A-series, a family of three tendon-driven, biomimetic soft manipulators—the A01, A02, and A03. These robots serve as a testing ground for "soft embodied intelligence," where the physical body acts as a variable parameter within the model. Unlike rigid humanoid systems that often struggle to generalize across diverse environments, Feagine’s approach emphasizes modularity. The model treats hardware specifications—such as length, payload, and configuration—as context, allowing it to generate tailored actions for each unique machine without requiring individual retraining.

This architecture relies on a multi-stage process where human demonstrations provide the core skill, while the model’s internal graph encoder accounts for the specific morphology of the robot in use. By predicting potential outcomes through a world dynamics engine, the system selects motions that best fit the robot’s current physical constraints. This strategy suggests a shift away from the industry's focus on a single, universal humanoid form, proposing instead that intelligence can accumulate and persist across specialized bodies suited to specific industrial, medical, or domestic tasks.
