Participants engaged in a curriculum of educational workshops and recreational activities designed to cultivate confidence and social bonds. By removing financial barriers, the sponsorship ensured that every child could fully participate in the experience without the burden of program fees.
Carolina Complete Health Funds AMEXCAN Summer Initiative for Youth
Twenty-four children from coastal North Carolina spent their summer building leadership skills and exploring cultural heritage through the AMEXCAN Summer Camp. The program, which focuses on personal growth and community connection, received vital financial backing from Carolina Complete Health to cover essential costs including meals and supplies.

Lori Keane, director of marketing at Carolina Complete Health, described the initiative as a direct investment in the strengths of young people. The effort aligns with the organization’s broader objective of strengthening families by supporting community-based programming across the state. AMEXCAN, a nonprofit established in 2001, continues to operate this binational organization to foster empowerment and advocacy for Latino residents throughout North Carolina.
