The project, which features a record-breaking 584-meter occupied floor, relies on the company’s SkyRise technology to manage the extreme vertical requirements of the tower. Engineers are installing two hoistways reaching over 597 meters, the longest of their kind globally. The fleet includes 53 double-deck and super double-deck units, some of which will reach speeds of 12 meters per second.
Otis Secures Contract for China’s Tianjin 117 Tower Supertall Project
Otis has been tapped to supply 251 elevators and escalators for the Tianjin 117 Tower, a nearly 600-meter skyscraper in northern China. The contract marks a return to the site for the company, which will modernize existing transit systems and install new units to service the country's third-tallest building.

Beyond hardware, the installation integrates the Panorama 3 management system and Otis ONE IoT platform for real-time traffic forecasting and predictive maintenance. To maintain the project's demanding construction schedule, the firm deployed over 100 field professionals on-site during the Spring Festival. This effort aims to ensure the tower meets its operational efficiency targets through energy-regenerative ReGen drives and aerodynamic cab designs that mitigate wind noise at high altitudes.
