The transition replaces legacy badge systems and physical keys with a centralized digital ecosystem. According to Sameer Istafa, CTO for the Miami Dolphins and Hard Rock Stadium, the move provides a consistent operating environment capable of scaling instantly from weekday vendor traffic to sold-out global events. The platform uses activity-based detection to alert staff to anomalies in real-time, while cloud-managed credentials allow for flexible, event-specific protocols without the need for constant infrastructure overhauls.
Hard Rock Stadium Overhauls Security with Verkada Cloud Platform
Managing the volatile crowd flow of a 65,585-seat venue requires more than standard locks and cameras. To bridge the gap between daily operations and massive event surges, Hard Rock Stadium has fully integrated Verkada’s cloud-based security suite, unifying access control, video monitoring, and emergency response across its sprawling Miami campus.

To facilitate the migration, the stadium partnered with Castaway Technology and Security (CTS), utilizing the Command Connector to bridge existing hardware into the new software interface. Beyond safety, the system provides operational intelligence regarding facility occupancy, allowing management to adjust staffing levels dynamically. Verkada CEO Filip Kaliszan noted that the system is engineered to handle the extreme complexity of a venue that never remains static, effectively reducing technical friction for the security teams tasked with protecting athletes, entertainers, and fans.
