The rankings, published in July, highlight the company's ability to bolster its market standing through a combination of premium service and cultural branding. With a portfolio that spans three distinct tiers—The Shilla, Shilla Monogram, and Shilla Stay—the group operates 22 properties across South Korea, China, and Vietnam. This growth comes as the total value of the world’s top 50 hotel brands climbed 21% to US$69.8 billion, a figure reflecting the increasing intensity of global hospitality competition.
Hotel Shilla Climbs to 21st in Global Brand Rankings
Hotel Shilla has secured the 21st spot in Brand Finance’s Hotels 50 2026 report, rising two places from last year. As the only South Korean hospitality firm to crack the global top 50, the Samsung affiliate continues to gain ground in a competitive market dominated by international hotel chains.

Operational success at the group’s flagship, The Shilla Seoul, serves as a primary driver for this recognition. The property recently secured a Five-Star rating from the Forbes Travel Guide for the eighth consecutive year, a first for any hotel in Korea. Additionally, the hotel maintained its top-tier status in the 2026 La Liste Hotel Awards. Looking ahead, the company is doubling down on its international footprint, following recent openings in Xi’an and Yancheng with plans for further expansion into Hanoi, aiming to cement its reputation as a leading luxury provider on the global stage.
