Intuit Executives Face Class Action Over TurboTax Revenue Disclosures

A securities class action lawsuit has been filed against Intuit Inc., targeting executives for allegedly misleading shareholders regarding TurboTax growth projections. The litigation centers on a period between August 22, 2025, and May 20, 2026, during which the company reported a significant revenue miss and workforce cuts.

The legal action specifically names CEO Sasan K. Goodarzi and CFO Sandeep S. Aujla as individual defendants under the Section 20(a) control person framework. Plaintiffs contend that both officers certified the accuracy of SEC filings that reaffirmed growth guidance even as the TurboTax segment showed signs of decline. The complaint highlights that Goodarzi and Aujla sold a combined $41 million worth of company stock during the period when these allegedly misleading statements were issued.

Following the disclosure of a 17% workforce reduction and disappointing revenue figures, Intuit shares plummeted 20.02% on May 21, 2026, closing at $307.07. Investors who purchased securities during the defined class period are currently being sought for the litigation. The court has established September 8, 2026, as the final deadline for shareholders to apply for lead plaintiff status. Attorney Joseph E. Levi of Levi & Korsinsky LLP, the firm representing the class, stated that the case hinges on the personal responsibility of corporate officers to ensure their certifications under the Sarbanes-Oxley Act reflect accurate financial disclosures.
