Advantech Launches Industrial AI Vision Systems Using Qualcomm IQ-9075

Advantech is pushing industrial automation into real-time vision reasoning with a new suite of edge AI hardware powered by the Qualcomm Dragonwing IQ-9075 processor. The rollout includes SMARC modules, robotic controllers, and fanless AI systems designed to handle 100 TOPS of performance while managing up to 16 concurrent camera feeds.

The new hardware lineup, featuring the AOM-6741 SMARC module and ASR-A503/AFE-A503 robotic controllers, leverages the IQ-9075 architecture to merge ISP, VPU, and NPU capabilities. This integration allows factories to shift from standard machine vision to complex tasks like real-time object tracking and OCR. By utilizing a heterogeneous Arm-based design with an 8-core Kryo Gen 6 CPU, the systems provide the deterministic response times required for safety-critical robotics and smart surveillance.

To bridge the gap between hardware and deployment, Advantech is bundling these units with specialized software tools, including a BSP Launcher and a Robotics Suite compatible with ROS2 frameworks. These resources are intended to minimize development cycles for engineers working in high-throughput environments. The AIR-055, a fanless multimodal edge system, rounds out the collection, offering high-speed connectivity options like 2.5GbE with PoE for demanding field deployments. Samples of the full series are currently available for industrial integration.
