BRC Therapeutics Recruits Pharma Veteran Chandra Ramanathan
Chandra Ramanathan, a three-decade veteran of the pharmaceutical industry with a history of guiding drugs from clinical trials to market, has joined BRC Therapeutics as Executive Vice President of Commercialization and Strategy, marking a strategic pivot for the Monterey-based developer of cannabinoid-based pain medications.
CEO George Hodgin noted that the hire is intended to bridge the gap between BRC’s current clinical investigations and commercial reality. The company is currently testing multimodal cannabinoid treatments for conditions such as Complex Regional Pain Syndrome, Restless Legs Syndrome, and Aromatase Inhibitor-Induced Arthralgia. Ramanathan, who holds a Ph.D. in Genomics and Bioinformatics, will oversee the company's efforts to translate its intellectual property into approved, patient-accessible medicines as it approaches pivotal trial stages.
