UCF Unveils Space-Themed Roth Tower Expansion

A fiber-optic night sky greets guests inside the newly expanded Roth Tower at UCF’s Acrisure Bounce House, where the university has traded traditional stadium aesthetics for a celestial design. The renovation project, led by Dimensional Innovations, merges the school's football identity with its reputation as America's Space University.

The centerpiece of the renovation is the Star Chamber, a hidden room featuring curved walls and ceilings studded with fiber-optic lights that mimic the constellation-themed streets of the UCF campus. This space flows into the Galaxy Club, which displays high-resolution imagery captured by university telescopes. By replacing standard suite numbering with constellation-based wayfinding, designers turned the building's internal navigation into a navigational tool itself.

Terry Mohajir, the university's Vice President and Director of Athletics, noted that the project aims to reflect UCF's identity as the nation's youngest Power Four institution. The expansion significantly increases the stadium's premium footprint, adding 28 luxury suites and 34 outdoor Sky Suites. The total club space has ballooned from 4,400 to 15,650 square feet, creating a year-round destination for corporate events and alumni gatherings beyond the football season. Creative director Ashley Loch emphasized that the design intent was to create a destination that remains compelling even on non-game days, moving away from the typical stadium experience to something more permanent and immersive.
