Luxury cruise operator Seabourn has confirmed its inaugural guest lineup for the 2026 'Seabourn Conversations' series, marking the first major phase of a three-year partnership with The Atlantic. The program places influential journalists and cultural critics directly on board to host discussions on the issues shaping contemporary society.
The collaboration launches on the Seabourn Ovation with a series of lectures and interactive sessions. Staff writers David Frum and Megan Garber, senior editor Yvonne Rolzhausen, and managing director of events Evan Smith will headline the initial voyages. Their presence is designed to mirror the publication's editorial range, spanning politics, media ethics, and historical analysis.
Kacy Cole, chief marketing officer for Seabourn, noted that the initiative aims to foster intellectual discovery at sea. For the cruise line, the partnership serves as a strategic move to provide enrichment programming that moves beyond traditional entertainment. The Atlantic, which has seen significant subscription growth and editorial expansion over the past year, will provide both speakers and curated library content across the fleet.
Programming will continue through 2028, culminating in a dedicated 12-day exclusive voyage aboard the Seabourn Quest. This final event is slated to coincide with the cruise line's 40th anniversary, incorporating themes from the publication’s signature Atlantic Festival. Travelers on select 2026 itineraries—including the 13-day Atlantic Coast and 8-day Southern Caribbean routes—will be the first to experience these sessions, which combine high-seas travel with long-form journalism and public discourse.
