A 14,000-ton ring crane, the largest of its kind ever engineered, has emerged from the XCMG production line in Xuzhou. Developed alongside Sinopec Heavy Lifting & Transportation, the machine pushes the boundaries of modular construction by offering a staggering 700,000 ton-meter lifting moment for global energy infrastructure projects.

Yang Dongsheng, chairman of XCMG Group, described the project as a transformative leap in engineering. By enabling the lifting of massive vessels as complete units rather than segments, the technology aims to mitigate safety risks during site assembly and pressure testing. In the nuclear sector, the crane achieves a world-first milestone: it can service two nuclear islands from a single position, streamlining construction timelines for large-scale energy facilities worldwide.
