Since its 2021 inception, the program has evolved from a simple corporate policy into a widespread practice, far outpacing industry participation benchmarks. While typical corporate volunteer rates hover around 33%, Clayton’s staff engagement has reached a level that surpasses even top-quartile programs, which average 66% participation. This shift reflects a concerted effort to integrate social responsibility into the company’s daily operations.
Clayton Employees Log 375,000 Volunteer Hours in Five-Year Milestone
More than 75% of Clayton’s 20,000-strong workforce spent their paid time off serving local causes last year, pushing the company’s five-year volunteer total past 375,000 hours. The initiative, known as Clayton Impact, leverages corporate resources to mobilize staff across the United States for community-focused projects.

Recent efforts demonstrate the scale of this involvement. In Texas, retail employees assembled 250 holiday stockings for Soldiers' Angels, while 93 builders from California, New Mexico, and Arizona collaborated with Rebuilding Together to restore community spaces. In Tennessee, 198 staff members removed 23 tons of trash during the Tennessee River Grand Slam Cleanup Series. These projects, along with home-building support for Habitat for Humanity, underscore a commitment to localized impact. Sarah Jo Gregory, Director of Wellbeing & Impact, noted that the milestone validates the staff's dedication to investing their talents directly into the neighborhoods where they live and work.
