PetroChina Profit Surpasses 100 Billion Yuan in Record First Half
PetroChina reported record-breaking financial performance for the first half of 2026, with profits attributable to owners climbing to 103.94 billion yuan. This marks the first time the energy giant has exceeded the 100 billion yuan milestone in a six-month period, driven by robust output and aggressive expansion into new materials.

Refining and chemical operations also saw significant momentum, contributing 14.53 billion yuan in operating profit. The company’s pivot toward high-end manufacturing is evident in its new materials output, which surged 61.4% to 2.69 million tons. Simultaneously, the marketing division expanded its footprint in the alternative energy sector, adding 592 integrated energy stations and 18,500 charging guns to its network. Technological investment remains a core focus, underscored by a 174% year-on-year increase in newly granted invention patents as the company integrates artificial intelligence across its industrial chains.
