Since opening its doors nine months ago, the Chelsea-based facility has cultivated a community of over 700 pet parents who prioritize design-forward care. This week-long celebration serves as a physical manifestation of that ethos, featuring daily pop-up showcases from prominent labels including Little Beast, By Teddy, Pawelier, and 1ER.
Chelsea Dog Daycare Launches City's First Canine Fashion Week
Between September 8 and 12, 2026, Manhattan’s Chelsea district will trade human couture for canine style as Barkhouse debuts New York’s inaugural Dog Fashion Week. The four-day event transforms the dog daycare into an immersive runway experience, bridging the gap between high-end hospitality and the city’s deep-rooted obsession with pet culture.

The programming culminates in "The Dogwalk," a finale staged on a 50-foot runway redesigned as an indoor garden by set designer Theresa Rivera. During the show, human-dog pairs will model vintage pieces curated by The NY Archive founder Gianna Corvino. The finale also hosts a charity auction for Muddy Paws Rescue, a portrait station by photographer Jesse Ditmar, and the premiere of Fetch Pet Insurance’s Scarfs for Arfs collection. Co-founder Gabriella Desposito-Carlson describes the initiative as an attempt to capture the cultural energy of the traditional New York Fashion Week and redirect it toward the modern dog-owning community.
