Dr. Kucik currently serves as a Full Professor of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine at the University of Washington. His clinical practice spans the specialized environments of Harborview Medical Center, where he treats complex neurotrauma and burn cases, and UW Montlake Hospital. His career is defined by an ability to manage acute physiological crises, a skill honed during extensive service in the United States Navy.
His military tenure includes serving as Force Surgeon for Marine Forces Reserve and Marine Forces South, as well as acting as a consultant to the Navy Surgeon General. Beyond his clinical work, he has directed medical strategy on the global stage, including a deployment as a Senior Intensivist at the NATO Role 3 hospital in Kandahar. His expertise extends to disaster medicine, evidenced by his co-editorship of 'Essentials of Disaster Anesthesia' and his involvement in large-scale triage operations, such as the 2021 Waukesha Christmas Parade response.
