Schlotzsky’s Deli Adapts Philly Cheesesteak for Texas Menu

Austin-based Schlotzsky’s Deli is venturing into new territory by applying its signature culinary style to the Philly Cheesesteak. Starting September 1, the fast-casual chain is rolling out a limited-time menu that translates the classic sandwich profile into sub, calzone, and flatbread formats across its nationwide locations.

The new lineup marks the first hot extension of the company's Stacked Subs platform. Executive Chef Jennifer Keil noted that the goal was to retain the core identity of the sandwich while experimenting with the chain's established preparation methods. Each item features thin-sliced marinated steak, white American cheese, and a blend of roasted vegetables and caramelized onions.

The menu includes a traditional Philly Cheesesteak sub served on an artisan white bun, available in 8-inch or 12-inch sizes. Expanding beyond the standard sandwich, the brand has introduced a calzone filled with mozzarella and signature sauce, alongside a chipotle cheesesteak flatbread topped with roasted red peppers and a chipotle mayo drizzle. These items will remain available through January 11, with options for individual dining or catering orders.
